One of the many minarets located atop the main building at the University of Tampa. It was originally built by H.B. Plant, in the early 1900s, as a very opulent hotel. Many rich and famous people stayed at the hotel. It cost over 3 million dollars to construct and was sold to the city of Tampa in the early 1930s for about $150,000 . . . what a deal!
