Florida Scrub Jay . . . seeing a Florida Scrub Jay is amazing! . . . while they are often very social and very friendly . . . they are, however, a threatened species that is Florida's only endemic bird . . . most Florida Scrub Jays are banded as is the one in this photo . . . considered to be endangered, the state along with a few organization is working to provide more/better habitat for the scrub jays . . . Brewster was a small company owned mining town in the heart of the Florida phosphate and citrus industry. It broke my heart when the town was shut down and disappeared forever.
